I feel a heaviness tonight.
This heaviness is not because of the tension in the air walking past the political tents on my way to vote.
This heaviness is not from the flood of alerts on my phone, that I have chosen to turn off.
Nor is it from news reports about radical extremists.
The weight doesn’t stem from my overall thoughts on the current political options.
I am not worried about what tonight holds, nor tomorrow.
My heart aches as I watch strangers, friends, even those I love – place their faith in a man or a woman.
Friends, there isn’t a result tonight that could change the reality we are living in. The reality is our world is broken and we need a Savior.
The reality is beautiful because we don’t have to wait for that Savior to be elected. He was, is, and is yet to come.
Regardless of political results, I choose love.
Regardless of political results, I choose kindness.
Regardless of political results, I choose hope.
Regardless of political results, I choose peace.
So here I place my stake in the ground. My banner high. Head lifted.
I love the King, and the King loves me.
You are His beloved.
Shine your light.
Xoxo,
Sara
